With the dual beginning at 165, the Pride struggled from the opening whistle as it dropped the first three bouts. Hunter Ayen (Gouvernuer, N.Y.) finally got Springfield on the board with a 7-5 decision at 197, and Irakli Kakauridze (Howell, N.J.) tacked on another decision with at 285.
The Pride's momentum slowed after an injury forced Tommy Casper (Bergenfield, N.J.) out of action at 125, but Tyler Keane (Glastonbury, Conn.) produced the Pride's only pin of the day in 5:42 at 133.
After a setback at 141, Springfield concluded the competition with a pair of decision victories by Eric Hamrick (Collingswood, N.J.) (6-4 at 149) and Devin Biscaha (Jackson, N.J.) (6-0 at 157).
The Pride will next compete in a quad meet with American International, STCC, and host Western New England this Wednesday.
