Williamstown, Mass. - September 20, 2009 - The Springfield College golf team finished tied for 12th out of 15 teams over the weekend at the Williams Invitational. Springfield's Craig DiFranco had the Pride's lowest score in the two-day event as he placed 20th with a 149.
Williams College won the event with an overall score of 570, +10 over par for the competition. Springfield's five golfers totaled a two-day total of 625, or +65 over par.
DiFranco shot a 77 the opening day before coming out and firing a 72 on Sunday en route to finishing in 20th place. Teammate Alexander Brown tied for 47th with a 156, while Jared Slingerland tied for 60th with a 161.
Rounding out the Pride's golfers for the weekend was Ryne McEvoy, who tied for 70th with a 165, and J.R. Balogun who tied for 82nd with a 171.
Springfield will hit the links next weekend when it competes in the Middlebury Invitational.
