Women's Cross Country Races In ECAC Championships

Nora Letendre Complete Results

Williamstown, Mass. - November 5, 2011 - Led by Michelle Mirti, the Springfield College women's cross country team finished eighth of 40 teams for a good showing at today's ECAC Division III Championships at Mount Greylock.

Mirti , a senior from Pompton Plains, N.J., ran a time of 24:05.44, and finished 20th overall.

She was followed by freshman Nora Letendre (Northampton, Mass.) in 45th place with a time of 24:51.75.

Following her among the SC finishers were freshman Sarah Knop (Eastham, Mass.) in 62nd with a time of 25:08.00, then sophomore Gabrielle Williams (Rutland, Mass.) in 64th in 25:13.04.

Rounding out the Pride contingent was sophomore Erica Fisher (Chicopee, Mass.) in 86th with a time of 25:53.96, freshman Emily Rund (Enfield, Conn.) in 118th in 26:45.40, and junior Nicole DeCristoforo (No. Kingston, R.I.) in 120th in 26:45.86.

Middlebury copped first with 25 points. The Panthers were followed by Williams (40), Tufts (162), Colby (175), Amherst (190), Wesleyan (216), Bates (254), Springfield (277), St. Joseph's (L.I.) (309), and Keene State, rounding out the top 10.

Up next, the women will get ready for the NCAA III Regionals at Brunswick, Me.
