Springfield, Mass. - April 17, 2010 - Nikki Hay won three individual events to lead the Springfield College women's track and field team on Saturday as it won the Springfield Invitational. The Pride totaled 235 points in the win, easily outdistancing second-place Wheaton College, who scored 104 points.
Rounding out the scoring on the day was New Haven (75), Westfield State (70.50), College of St. Rose (69.50), Mount Holyoke (64), Eastern Conn. State (54), Keene State (21), Siena (10), Manhattanville (4).
Hay had a standout meet for the Pride as she won the long jump, triple jump, and 100 meter dash. Hay recorded a winning leap in the long jump of 5.51m (18-01.00), took first in the triple jump with a mark of 11.30m (37-01.00), and crossed the finish line first in the 100 in 12.48.
Fatima Rose won the shot put after registering a distance of 12.83m (42-01.25), while Colleen Brague took first in the javelin with a heave of 30.45m (99-11).
On the track, Lacey Cartier won the 800 in 2:19.52 and Catherine Croce claimed first in the 400 hurdles in 1:07.94.
Springfield's relay's cruised to wins as Crystal Davis, Kelly Murphy, Elise Mihan, and Hay won the 4x100 in 49.42 and Joy Jennifer, Murphy, Cartier, and Erika Marks took first in the 4x400 in 4:12.09.
