Wheaton Blanks Men's Tennis, 9-0

Springfield, Mass. - April 6, 2011 - The Springfield College men's tennis team was blanked by visiting Wheaton College, 9-0, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action at Appleton Courts on Wednesday afternoon.

Springfield drops to 3-2, 0-1 in league play, while the Lyons improve to 5-4, 2-0.

For the Pride, Zach O'Leary was the lone member of the team to force three sets before losing 6-0, 2-6, 10-5 at No. 3 singles. John Schrank also battled for Springfield at No. 6 singles as he lost 7-6 (7-5), 6-4.

The Pride will hit the courts again on Saturday morning for another league match at Coast Guard. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 am.
