Helping out Read en route to the Violets victory over Springfield were forwards sophomore Megan Dawe and freshman Lindsey Oldshue, both of whom were named to the All-Tournament team. Both Lewis and Bickelhaupt earned All-Tournament team honors for the Pride.
Springfield cut the NYU lead to two, 63-61, after Lexi Windwer (Milton, Mass.) buried a trifecta with 2:19 remaining. However, the hosts scored the final nine points of the game to close out the 11-point victory.
The Pride will return to action on Wednesday night when it hosts Wheaton in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play.
