Springfield beat Middlebury with set scores of 25-21, 25-19, 25-15 and swept Trinity with scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-19.
The Pride went unbeaten in the two-day tournament, edging Williams, 3-2 on Friday night.
It was once again Springfield's offense that was clicking on all cylinders as it hit .563 against Middlebury and an even .500 versus Trinity.
For her efforts all weekend, Kelsey McGayhey (Shelter Island, N.Y.) was named to the All-Tournament Team, and deservedly so. The sophomore right side produced 11 kills on 17 errorless attempts to go along with six blocks in the win over Middlebury before tallying seven kills at a .600 clip against Trinity.
In the win over Middlebury, Lauren Holt (Granby, Conn.) posted eight kills and three blocks and Amanda Palladino (Cheshire, Conn.) registered six blocks of her own. Tessa Smolinski (Hebron, Conn.) was credited with nine kills and Whitney Miller (Cuba, N.Y.) delivered 19 helpers.
Holt notched 11 kills and six blocks in the sweep of Trinity, while Molly Giannattasio (East Lyme, Conn.) and Miller combined for 31 assists. Amy Entel (Berkley, Mass.) led the defensive efforts for Springfield with 15 digs.
Springfield will play its final New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game on Saturday afternoon in Blake Arena when it hosts Wellesley with a chance to claim the regular-season crown on the line.
