Women's Cross Country Places 29th at New England Championships

BOSTON, Mass. (October 6, 2007) – The Springfield College women's cross country team finished 29th out of 48 teams over the weekend at the New England Championships held at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.

The Pride saw a significant jump in the standings this season after placing 39th out of 48 teams in the 2006 campaign.

Alyssa Brigham (Penacook, N.H.) was the first member of the squad to finish the 5k course as she crossed the finish line in 19:38. She placed 70th out of 299 runners in the race.

Amanda DiPaolo (Phillipstown, N.Y.) placed in 90th after finishing in the race in 19:53 while teammate Lacey Cartier (York, Maine) finished in a time of 20:24, good for 136 place.

The Pride travel to the Empire State next week to take part in the UAlbany Invitational on October 13.
