Women's Track and Field Finishes 13th at All-New England's
DURHAM, N.H. - May 10, 2008
- Paced behind another outstanding performance by Nikki Hay
, the Springfield College women's track and field team placed 13th this weekend at the All-New England Championships hosted by the University of New Hampshire.
The meet, comprised of the top competitors from Division I, II, and III New England institutions, had 31 teams score as Springfield finished in 13th with 21 points. Boston College finished first with 131 points.
Hay, a sophomore from Norwalk, Conn., was sensational as she captured the triple jump on her final jump of the event en route to All-New England honors. Her distance was 37-10 3/4. She also took second place in the long jump with a distance of 17-11.
Sophomore Amanda DiPaolo (Garrison, N.Y.) also earned All-New England honors as she finished sixth in the 10,000 meters in a personal best time of 38:06.86.
The Pride return to action this week as it hosts the ECAC Championships on Thursday and Friday, May 15-16.

Jim Pennington enters his 30th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2013-2014. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
