Football's MacFadyen Named To All-America Teams
– Dec. 20, 2002 – Springfield College senior offensive lineman Andrew MacFadyen (Natick, Mass.)
was named to the Football Gazette Division III All-America Second Team and to the Hewlett Packard Division III All-America Third Team, announced today.
MacFadyen, a team co-captain and three-year starter at guard, caps an outstanding senior season in which he earned mention on numerous all-star teams. He was named to the Football Gazette All-East Region First Team and to the ECAC All-Star First Team as well as to the All-Freedom Football Conference (FFC) First Team and the academic all-conference team. He was a major reason why the Pride led Division III in rushing (356.7 yards-per-game) for the third time in the last four seasons.
The Pride (8-2 overall) won its fourth FFC championship in six seasons with a 6-0 conference record. SC lost to SUNY Brockport, 16-0, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. It was the Pride's third NCAA Tournament appearance since 1998.
