Springfield College School of Social Work seeks applications for the position of Administrative Secretary in the Office of Field Education. This position has primary responsibility for providing clerical/secretarial assistance and administrative support to the Director and Assistant Director of Field Education. Duties include: act as receptionist/secretary; provide secretarial support to professional staff as required, including the typing or word processing of various materials; maintain and update appropriate databases; address administrative needs of the weekend program; perform other similar duties as required or requested by the Director or Assistant Director.
This position requires knowledge equivalent to that gained through completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent, and a minimum of three years of related secretarial/support experience; or the equivalent in combined education and experience. Working knowledge of various computer applications, most importantly Access is critical. Also necessary is expertise with spreadsheet applications in a Windows based environment. Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills; proven organizational and interpersonal skills with diverse constituencies, including adult learners. Experience in higher education preferred. Schedule includes occasional weekend administrative assignments for the M.S.W. Weekend Program.
