Assistant Professor - Physician Assistant Studies
The Department of Physician Assistant Studies invites applications for a 12-month, program track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning July 2014. Faculty responsibilities include teaching within the physician assistant program, participating in clinical assessment and procedure laboratories, student academic advisement and mentorship, scholarly activity, and service to the School and College. Teaching experience and continuing clinical practice is preferred. In addition, the potential to develop a record of scholarship is encouraged. The Department of Physician Assistant studies offers a 6 year program leading to both a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science/Pre-Physician Assistant and a Master’s of Physician Assistant studies degree. The faculty manage department functions using a collaborative and cooperative model. The School of Health Sciences and Rehabilitation Studies includes programs in OT, PT, PA, emergency medical services management, communication sciences and disorders, health sciences, and rehabilitation and disability studies. Team teaching strategies, interdisciplinary collaboration, and active student learning are priorities of the school.
The ideal candidate is a Physician Assistant eligible for licensure in Massachusetts who has a Master’s Degree, holds current NCCPA certification, and has at least 3 years of clinical experience. Candidates from other related disciplines including M.D./D.O. are also welcome to apply.
